Gear Review: Adjust-A-Grill makes it easy to cook over an open flame

The closest thing we have in common with our primitive human ancestors is cooking with fire. There’s something satisfying being able to get a fire going and then use it to cook your meal.

Usually, cooking over an open flame is only reserved for campsites with grills attached to the fire pits. But now, with the Adjust-A-Grill, you can do this just about anywhere. It’s quick, easy, and safe. I originally was given the Adjust-A-Grill last fall to try out and hadn’t had a chance to break it out. Now, I plan on bringing it with me on all my dispersed camping outings.

How the Adjust-A-Grill Works

It’s about as easy as you can imagine. Once you get it out of the box, unscrew the metal stake which will give you two separate pieces. Now, grab your hammer or a hard rock and smash it into the ground near your fire pit. Once staked in, attach the grill part over where your flame will be and tighten the screw in.

Wa-La! Your grill is operational and you can get to cooking.

My Thoughts

I was stoked to try this out. I’d brought it on multiple trips and wasn’t able to break it out. Out in western Arizona, however, I finally did. The grill was able to hold my cast iron skillet – easily eight pounds – which shows it’s strength and durability. When it comes to ease, this is a winner and anyone can use it. I strongly recommend getting one for your camping repertoire and cooking over an open flame.

As of 4/14/20, this is on sale for $50.

Until next time adventurers, take care and be safe.
