Gear Review: Ultralight HydraPak Flux 1.5L Water Bottle
I’m always looking to find ways to lower my backpacking weight, and the HydraPak Flux 1.5L does just that. At only 97g, it weighs hardly anything and folds down when empty into a small and compact shape that you can stuff anywhere in your bag.
HydraPak Flux 1.5L
I tried the HydraPak Flux 1.5L out as I backpacked to one of the highest lakes in Colorado. Considering Columbine Lake is 12,700 feet, I wanted to keep my backpack as light as possible for the four-four mile trek up.
As I filled my bladder, I kept the Flux in my bag. But because it can fold up, it didn’t take up any room and could stuff it into a small pocket to save space for other goodies.

Once filled up at the lake, it was easy to hold as the soft walls were grippy. This feels like something you could run with without worrying about slipping out of your hands. Additionally, the bottle’s wide mouth makes filling it up a seamless process.

If you want a lightweight water bottle option, I highly recommend the HydraPak Flux 1.5L. And, what I also love, is it’s alcohol safe, so if you’re thinking of hauling up some wine or other drink options, it won’t ruin the bottle.
Until next time adventurers, take care and be safe.
