I’m always looking to find ways to lower my backpacking weight, and the HydraPak Flux 1.5L does just that. At only 97g, it weighs hardly anything and folds down when empty into a small and compact shape that you can stuff anywhere in your bag.
A Review of the HydraPak Flux 1.5L
I tried the HydraPak Flux 1.5L out as I backpacked to one of the highest lakes in Colorado. Considering Columbine Lake is 12,700 feet, I wanted to keep my backpack as light as possible for the four-four mile trek up.
As I filled my bladder, I kept the HydraPak Flux 1.5L in my bag. But because it can fold up, it doesn’t take up any room and could stuff it into a small pocket to save space for other goodies.
Once filled up at the lake, it was easy to hold as the soft walls were grippy. This feels like something you could run with without worrying about slipping out of your hands. Additionally, the bottle’s wide mouth makes filling it up a seamless process.
HydraPak Flux 1.5L Overview
The HydraPak Flux 1.5L typically refers to its water reservoir’s capacity, providing users with 1.5 liters (or approximately 50 ounces) of liquid storage. This capacity is suitable for extended outdoor activities, ensuring users have an ample water supply.
The reservoir is designed to fit into most hydration-compatible backpacks and packs, making it convenient for users to stay hydrated without having to carry a separate water bottle.
HydraPak reservoirs are often made from high-quality, durable materials. They are designed to be lightweight and flexible, allowing for easy storage and maneuverability within a backpack.
4. Easy to Clean:
HydraPak hydration reservoirs typically feature a wide opening, making them easy to clean and fill. This is an essential feature to prevent the growth of bacteria and ensure the user’s health and safety.
The Flux 1.5L may include a versatile design with features like a high-flow bite valve or a twist locking mechanism to prevent leaks. These features contribute to ease of use and convenience during outdoor activities.
6. BPA and PVC Free:
HydraPak products are often designed with user safety in mind, and they are commonly made free from harmful substances like BPA (Bisphenol A) and PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride).
7. Thermal Welded Seams:
Some HydraPak reservoirs feature thermal-welded seams, providing additional durability and preventing leaks. This construction method ensures a secure and long-lasting hydration system.
8. Quick Disconnect:
Some models may come with a quick disconnect feature, allowing users to easily remove the reservoir from their backpack for refilling or cleaning.
9. Insulated Tube:
To help keep water at a desirable temperature, some HydraPak reservoirs come with an insulated tube, which is particularly useful in extreme weather conditions.
