Date Taken: May 2019

Background: We arrived at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon the night before and after a cold night sleep, we arose early and headed to the canyon’s edge to watch the sunrise. With clouds in the sky, it created a really cool middle layer for the sun to stream through. This morning, before embarking on our Rim2Rim hike, was one of the best sunrises I’ve seen in a long time. The rocks lit up and really created a special sight. For those wanting a less crowded national parks experience, the North Rim is the place to go. There were people, for sure, but it was hardly as crowded as the opposite side. Highly recommend you make the trip to the NR AND check out the Vermillion Cliffs and Marble Canyon on the way.
