FAQ: Best Maui Hotels

Is Maui a good destination for couples?

Maui is probably the best place for couples to relax, adventure, and experience. There’s honestly nothing like Island Life, and after two trips to Maui, I’m forever hooked. You get beach time, hiking trails, and epic views and waterfalls.

I couldn’t speak more highly of Maui if I tried.

Can I see whales from my Maui hotel?

During the winter months, when whales call Maui home, you definitely can see them from your hotel room (if you have an ocean view). My fiance and I spent every evening on the beach watching whales breach. I would recommend having binoculars to see them, as most were pretty far out.

If you want to book whale watching in Maui, read my guide. The best months are December through March.

What does it cost per night to stay in Maui?

Hotel costs vary based on location. When I looked for my trip in March 2024, prices ranged from $300 per night up to over $1,500 at one of the luxury locations. While not cheap compared to mainland hotels, you can get some that won’t break the bank.

What credit card points transfer to Maui Hotels?

There are a few options for those looking to transfer points to the best hotels in Maui. Those with Chase Points can transfer to all Hyatt locations in Maui and get a good ROI. The Hyatt ones are as follows:
