These are the 10 things I’d buy for fall camping if I were just starting
Camping is one of my favorite activities. It allows you to get outside, connect with nature, and disconnect from the real world. Plus, it almost always puts you in a stunning place where you can see the stars, smell the trees, or hear running water.
But to camp effectively and safely, you need the right gear. Here’s what I’d get if I were starting out. (Also, be kind; I don’t have photos of each piece of gear.)
4 Person Tent
This is the perfect tent camp size. Why? Because you can put the queen mattress below in it! It also allows you plenty of space to carry bags and move around.
Queen Mattress
If you’re going car camping, you might as well be comfortable. I’m all about having a good night’s sleep; a queen mattress does that for me.
Cooler for your Food
You have to keep your food cold. These can be expensive, but they last forever and are an investment.
Camp Stove + Pots/Utensils
Solid cooking items will make your life much easier and let you cook at camp instead of eating out.

Camp Chairs
Don’t skimp on camp chairs. You might be in these for a few hours and don’t want to be sore or in a bad position.

Comfy Fleece
A freelance jacket is one of the best parts of life. They’re extremely comfortable and keep you quite warm.
Power station to stay connected
While camping is great for getting off the grid, sometimes you need to be connected. Or, maybe you’re camping but also working remotely. If so, having a power station to charge your gear is crucial.
Cozy Blanket
Everyone needs a good blanket to wrap up in. This works around the fire or going to bed to stay extra toasty.
35-degree sleeping bags
Most of you won’t be camping in freezing temperatures, so a 35-degree bag is perfect for warmer summer months and maybe shoulder season camping, too.
Lantern and Headlamps
It’s going to get dark at some point, so you’ll need a way to see throughout the campsite. Get one that works, but don’t splurge. They all do the same thing.
